We are meeting up in the Ferry terminal carpark at Ballycastle 9.30am on  Saturday 26th before setting of on the 10am sailing to the Island of Rathlin.

This is an amazing fun trip to fly of the cliffs

Sunday 12am we are flying of Binevinagh / Downhill slopes. these are  some of the best slopes in Ireland for slope soaring .

Directions: Coming off the M2 head for Broughshane/ Carnlough. Turn right at the yellow pub in Broughshane, then immediately left at the church. Follow signs for Slemish. Look on right after about ½ mile for  No.35, cream house with green chimneys. Follow the concrete lane and veer left around the buildings. You’re there!!

If you have never visited the site a Patton Park Belfast and witnessed control line flying then go along !

You really will enjoy the day and witness some fantastic flying.

The weather over the 2 days was extreme ! Saturdays weather saw strong winds from the North West with baltic cold hail and sleet showers but with 18 pilots on the slope it didnot put them off flying and have fun.

Sunday was a little bit warmer but after lunch the winds dropped to zero. We still stayed on the slope until 5.30 with plenty of chat and food from the BBQ. Again this year it was HOTDOGS that everyone enjoyed and 72 was cooked over the 2 days.

Saturday and Sunday night we had a meal for the long distant travellers and a big thank you to Mrs. Pearson and Diane for providing 2 lovely meals and to JP for doing the washing up lol.

Back to the gliding, there was a great aray of models on the slope from foam fun gliders to some lovely scale PSS models and my favourite a scale ASW15B owned by French Fred.

I have posted some fotos taken by Fred, sorry I did not have time to take fotos but thanks to Fred for sharing them, Terry Jones from Bussards has also made a video of Saturdays flying and I thank Terry for this and also for the event stickers that everyone loved. This was a really nice touch to give to the pilots that attended.
