It is with the deepest sadness that I have to inform you all that Reggie sadly passed away last night.

Our condolences and sympathy goes out to his family circle.

Reggie was known to many in the modelling Community and to all of us who flew gliders, he was a character and a great modeler, he will be missed by us all.

Rest in Peace Reggie.

As Autumn/Winter is here, John and Richard spent the last of the light evenings on the slope.
The video was made with a head mount camera, it was just a test video of Richard’s New Le Fish.

This Saturday (29th)is the annual model sale at Cotton Mount Arms,
A great chance to pick up a bargain and to dispose of your unwanted planes and equipement.
Weather is looking poor for flying so why not go alone and support the local club and enjoy the mornings craic with fellow model flyers.

Hello All,

With just over a week to go until the Horizon Hobby UK “Come & Fly” evening I thought I’d drop you all a mail to firstly remind you about the night and secondly to let you know a little of what’s planned!!

I have received the product for the evening, let me tell you there is some great stuff! We have also received a number of other raffle prizes from Horizon Hobby which include a DX8, Blade 450 3D, Phoenix Flight Sim, the all new Spitfire BNF & lots lots more! A big thanks to Horizon Hobby for sponsoring the event, this event is totally unique and the first of it’s kind in the UK, nowhere else will you get the chance to sample such an array of products.

Come along for a good nights craic and to support the great work that Epilepsy Action do, every penny raised in our raffle goes to this charity, a very worthy cause.

The time to remember is 7pm at Lisburn Lesiureplex (beside the Omniplex Cinema) next Friday night (4th November), really looking forward to seeing you all there.

Recent club trip

A few weeks back George, Chris,Donald, Billy, John and myself headed to the Scottish Model Airshow, unfortunately it turned out a very very cold wet windy day and only a few models flew in the morning.
We booked on a early boat and headed back home wet, tired yet happy. The craic was good even though we saw very little flying.

N.I Area Scale Static Judging

May 042011

The second Area Scale Judging will be held at Mount Stewart, the National Trust property on the Portaferry Road from Newtownards, on Sunday 8 May, starting at 11.30 am.
This is the first time this has been held on Sunday, and it should be an excellent venue for us to show off our models, including all types as well as Scale. The NT have invited a Railway Club to join in, so there will be many new faces along if the North Down Model Railway exhibition is a guide. There will be a marquee on the lawn, which will be available to us, but which will inevitable cramp the space for the Flying Display. We run this every hour from 1.00pm to 4.00pm, 20 minutes each time, alternating Control Line and Radio Control Aerobatics.

Slope Fest NI by DMFC

Hi all , well our Slope event has passed and what an amazing weekends fun was had by the pilots that attended.
The weather was beautiful but it lacked the winds that would have given us a thrilling time on Slieve Gallion.
Saturday , we had 6 visiting pilots. Not alot but with forecast winds of 2mph the vast majority of travelling friends from all over Ireland decided to give it a miss. The cost of fuel sure is taking its toal on travelling pilots.
Sunday again was beautiful and the winds just were enough to get us up for some cruising along the Southerly slope.
We had 12 visiting pilots and everyone got to fly !
Hot Dogs went down a treat with everyone and over 60 were served during the 2 day event.
Next years event will be aptly named Hot Dog Slope Bash !
I put together a small video of the event.
I am still learning about my camera and the editing programme.
Well I think its improving.
I will upload fotos once I get them of the camera.
In the mean time enjoy the video.
Thanks to all the pilots that travelled to our event.
Please vote on this video if you like it !
